Happy Birthday to Catherine Coulson, the woman behind Twin Peaks’ beloved Log Lady! 🪵🌲

Catherine's deep connection to the natural world extended far beyond the screen. Inspired by her iconic character, she became a passionate advocate for wildfire prevention and used her platform to raise awareness about the importance of caring for forests.

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of a woman who cared deeply for our natural world. ❤️

In honor of Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), we are proud to host this community altar in the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum lobby through November 1.

Created in collaboration with Xochitl Cano, a local ceremonial practitioner who carries forward Mexica and Mayan traditions, this shared space invites our community to honor loved ones, celebrate cherished memories, and reflect on the connections that continue beyond their lives.

Visitors are invited to participate in our Wings of Remembrance display by writing a loved one’s name on a butterfly, whispering a loving message into its wings, and adding it to the display.

We welcome you to visit, remember, and contribute to this collective space of remembrance. 💀
