Founded by Charles Booth-Clibborn in 1986, Paragon Press has been an active force in the UK fine arts scene for over four decades. Focusing on British artists, Paragon published 30 print portfolios in their first decade, and have to date, published over 200 projects.

Paragon has partnered with a variety of print studios and artists, including Anish Kapoor, who has had a working relationship with the publisher for 32 years. Approximately 144 prints on view in Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins were published by Paragon Press, including the color-drenched gradients of Kapoor’s Flow series and the stark, monochrome compositions of History.

In Shadow II, it looks as if colorful light breathes out of a still center point. The prints seem to be pulling in the viewer towards a radiating vortex that can be described as expanding or collapsing into the void. As described by curator Ryan Hardesty, radiance is central to Kapoor’s work as it conveys an expression of energy and presence.

Stop by the museum and see the Shadow II series in person!
