Saturday is almost here! Don't miss Todd Berry as Elvis Presley at the Jay County Heritage Festival. He will be on stage at 12:00 p.m. At 2:00, Portland's own George Lopez will be performing, and at 3:15 will be the father and daughter duo of Sweet Country & the Dog Biscuits.
Sunday will feature Todd Berry at 12:00 p.m. singing patriotic music and more. At 2:00 p.m., The Cross Connection will close out the entertainment.
In between these acts, there will be plenty of displays and craft vendors to visit as well as activities for the kids. Of course, food will be served from 11:00 to 4:00 each day.
See you at the east end of Main Street. FREE ADMISSION!

Three more days until the Jay County Heritage Festival. The museum grounds were fairly quiet today as drizzle fell off and on.
The forecast for the weekend is mostly sunny and in the low 70s -- perfect weather for a festival!
Our kettle stirrers will be there early stirring ham and beans in the black iron kettle on Saturday and chili on Sunday. There will also be foot long hotdogs, sloppy joe sandwiches, homemade Dutch apple pie, ice cream, caramel corn, cotton candy, and more!
Join us from 11 to 4 each day at the end of East Main Street. Parking will be available at East Elementary School with golf cart shuttles to and from the museum.

It's only 4 more days until the 22nd Annual Jay County Heritage Festival! Today the tents were put up and tables and chairs put in for the vendors. The aroma of JCHS caramel corn filled the halls of Asbury United Methodist Church as the first 200 bags were made. More preparations will continue tomorrow. See you Sept. 26 & 27 from 11:00 to 4:00 each day at the end of East Main Street! Don't miss the fun! Free Admission!

The final countdown has begun! It was a gray, drizzly Monday morning, but our volunteers and trustees from the Jay County Security Center were hard at work hauling tents from storage to the festival grounds and putting together tent frames. This Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26 and 27, is the 22nd Annual Jay County Heritage Festival. Don't miss this free event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day!! See you at the east end of Main Street!!

Volunteers are still needed to help at the Jay County Heritage Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27. Because of changed phone numbers, we have been unable to contact many faithful volunteers from the past. We also welcome those who have not helped before to donate three or four hours to support your historical society. This is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to earn volunteer hours!
If you can help us, please call the museum (260-726-7168) to volunteer three or four hours. You do not need to be a JCHS member to help.

Jay County's bison from Indiana's Sesquicentennial is getting a facelift. After touring the county, the bison has made its home at the Jay County Historical Museum. Muralist Marie McKinley is now giving it a facelift. She has included symbols of our country, state and county and the mascots of all 8 of Jay County's former high schools. Stop by and see her work in progress!
Marie just finished painting the mural on the Community Resource Center at the corner of Meridian and Water Streets. Thanks to Marie for her work!
