The Historical Society celebrated the 250th Birthday of the U.S.A. by having a booth at the Jay County Fair and by having a float in Portland's 4th of July parade. Thanks to the weatherman for cooperating so we could include the horse-drawn mail wagon on our float.

Thank you to all who attended Chris Kennedy Nixon's presentation on her new book, "Murder and Mayhem in Early Jay County, Indiana", last week. Copies of the book are available at the museum for $25 each.
These may be picked up during museum hours, Tuesday thru Thursday from 10 to 4, or may be shipped for additional postage. Call the museum, 260-726-7168, for more information.
