The Port Wing Historical Society is recognizing the 250th Semiquincentennial of the USA with a new flag display. Each flag represents a different time in the history of Wisconsin and the town of Port Wing. Stop by the museum on Saturdays 11-4 or Sundays 1-4.

While researching the American Legion minutes for veteran names, we found that the Legion was actively encouraging the county to name the creek that goes over Twin Falls, "Larson Creek" after Carl Larson, the first white male born in Port Wing. The Legion received word in November 1970 that the State Geographic Names Council approved the name.
