The Judge Eghart House annual meeting and speaker event is coming up on Weds May 7 at 630 pm, held at the Port Washington State Bank Community Room. We are excited for our special guest, a local descendant of the Eghart Family! Also, we will be promoting the upcoming season at the last PW Winter Market on Sat May 17. Gearing up for the summer and hope to see you!

Work is complete on both chimneys! We are so pleased by how the work turned out on this historic home. Lifetime Chimneys LLC comes highly recommended! Daniel and team were the height of professionalism, timely communication, and knowledge. Thank you to all who contributed to this successful upgrade, including the Mens Club for the contractor suggestion.

One down, one to go! Amazing work by Lifetime Chimneys...replacing the historic chimney with modern brick that will hold up better than the soft cream city brick. Hard to tell the difference, the replication is so good!

The Judge Eghart House is getting new chimneys! Due to generous donations from our community, including a large amount from one person, we are able to make this improvement happen. Thank you! The original cream city brick chimneys are crumbling and leaking. They will be rebuilt with modern bricks and sealed to prevent moisure coming in. Thanks to Lifetime Chimneys for their expertise!

Prospective Volunteer Tea for today, Sunday, at 2 pm is cancelled. We love to do teas at the house so will look for other opportunities to host these in the future!

Thank you Dr. Leslie Bellais for a fantastic discussion on the Rituals of Romance in the Victorian era and beyond. The dress featured here is a local woman's wedding dress...Victorian clothing is rare to survive intact, and we are lucky to have several to highlight in our 2024 special display. Our season starts very soon...every Saturday from 1 to 4 pm Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend!

This picture was taken from the library yesterday. You can see the severe deterioration of the original Cream City brick chimney. We have had a very geneous donor come through for chimney repair recently, and will need more donations for the other chimney to the north. We will be doing some fundraising activities this year and can use all the help we can get. This is a pricey repair and we need it to stabilize the envelope of the structure. Thank you!
