Well. our beloved craft,
The Black Eagle went off to her new home on Weds.in the Lake Champlain area. Her new owner, Matt Foley plans to repair her & Put her back in the water where she belongs! A bitter-sweet day for the Boat Museum to be sure!

DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR TRASH IS???

For the last three weeks the Bay Keeper program has been out daily busily collecting discarded trash from the bay. Today was the last day of work for the current operator of the Trash Retrieval Unit, Carter Brown, as he heads back to Hobart and William Smith soon. Here is a list, organized by week, of what he found.

Week 1:
7 plastic water bottles, a 6" block of wood, 1 large piece of styro foam, 2 bailing pails, 2 fish bobbers, 1 plastic spray bottle and numerous candy wrappers.

Week 2:
1 12" square plastic container, 10 water bottles, 1 beer can, 1 hacky sack, 1 empty plastic food container, 5 6" blocks of wood, 1 empty shot gun cartridge, 7 tennis balls, 1 "tilex" spray can, assorted misc. plastic pieces, 1 huge piece of plastic wrap, 1 "Marlboro" cigarette package., 1 "Doritos" bag, several cigarette butts, 1 fish skeleton, 1 "Arizona" iced tea bottle, 2 eggs, 4 chip bags, 1 orange peel, 1 apple, 4 plastic bags, lots of misc. bits of plastic trash, 1 super size McDonalds plastic cup, 1 root beer bottle, Styrofoam packing material, 1 17ft. plank of composite wood, 3 Gatorade bottles, 1 sheet of bubble wrap, 1 6ft. square piece of someone's dock, 1 6ft. wood plank, 1 4ft segment of a dock piling, 1 plastic American flag, 1 glass Corona Light bottle, 2 plastic ice cream containers and 1 10" plastic lid.

Week 3:
2 beer cans, 1 soul of a flip flop, 5 water bottles, 13 plastic bags, 2 wooden planks (1 5ft. and 1 3ft), 1 bristled shoe scrubber, 5 tennis balls, 1 "capri sun" plastic pouch, 1 full can of "Bud" beer, 1 Gatorade bottle, 3 plastic cups, 1 piece of bubble wrap, 1 1" thick piece of foam, 1 small plastic toy doll, 1 1 gallon. red Home Depot bucket, 1 pool noodle, 1 Croc sandal, 5 plastic cups, 2 6" blocks of wood, 1 3ft. wood plank, 1 foam ball, 2 Styrofoam cups, lots of cigarette butts, 1 neoprene bottle cozy, 1 fishing lure, 1 cigar wrapper, several "blunt" wrappers, assorted trash (bottle caps, candy wrappers etc.), 1 sand pail, 1 cellophane bag, and 1 5ft. plastic sheet.
