Exhibition Coal Mine The Pocahontas Exhibition Coal Mine gives you a real life experience of working in an underground coal mine. The mine is open Thursday-Sat from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

The Pocahontas Exhibition Mine is an education look at underground coal mining in southwest Virginia. Coal was first mined there in 1882 and the mine operated for 73 years. With a 13 foot tall coal seam, the mine was proud to fuel the American Navy. and Sunday from 10am-4pm From May to October . If you have a group of 20 or more you can schedule a tour at any time by calling 276-945-9522.
