Over the past week, we’ve taken a deep dive into the history, archaeology, and preservation of Mine Creek Battlefield:

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: How Dr. William B. Lees' research, dropped bullets, and carbine shell casings physically proved the fierce intensity of the battle.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡: How Kansas State University used Ground Penetrating Radar to map the long-buried Fort Leavenworth-to-Fort Scott Military Road.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: How Dr. John Spencer, Arnold Schofield, Ola May Earnest, Marty Read, and the Mine Creek Battlefield Foundation saved over 320 acres from development.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 & 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬: How the Foundation teamed up with the Kansas State Historical Society, the Clark family, and local supporters to build the Visitor Center, install interpretive signage, and continue developing trails on our preserved land.

Now, it’s your turn to step onto this sacred ground and see it all come alive!
