This is considered a lost art. It was made by
Sarah (Littell) Hopkins from pieces of hair. She started when she was a young girl and didn’t stop until she was a great grandmother in 1932. Friends and family donated pieces over time so they could be included in this flower design. There are over 164 different pieces.

If you would like to see this piece it is in the period room of the museum.

These are leaded glass doors from the first drug store in Pleasanton. Before they could be destroyed F.M Cross saved them. It was donated by his widow Myrtle Cross.

The bottles inside were found by Ernest Ransier and given for this display.

You can find it right next to the geneolgy library.

Lookback: Riding the stagecoach

Traveling by stage (or horseback) was the only way to reach Lander until the arrival of the railroad, and here is a shot of a stage coach coming up Beaver Hill.

Beaver Hill had a reputation for being dangerous, with accidents happening often enough that many passengers opted to walk this portion, as you can see them coming up behind the coach. Stage driver is Harry Angelo, photo taken circa 1900.

Linn County Historical Museum. Today is Thursday
