Did you know that the mural "Back Home" that is located in the Pleasant Hill Post Office was also published in a history text book. If you have not checked out the mural its located here in our local post office by the front counter; it depicts a confederate family that is returning to there ravaged farm.

Picture Identified: Betty Dickerson and Matt Davis. That would have been around 93 or 94. She owned the Library, Antiques, Soda Shop and Deli. Which used to be the old library across the street from the post office when I was a kid.

This was a Holden Court warming picture.. The guy is Kevin House girls are Marla Timberlake and Marla Farnsworth.

On this day in 1961 The Pleasant Hill Times published its first color ad in the newspaper for Gerbes Grocery Store. Part of the ad is below in black and white because of how its scanned in but you can see the different shades to show where the color sections probably were.

What was playing at the Peoples Theater in October 1956.....Comanche a Indian Thriller, Desert Sands, Tarantula, and The Benny Goodman Story. Comment below if you went to see these in the theater. Do you prefer the technicolor version you saw back then or the more modern day versions.
