The Plattsburgh Air Force Base Museum was created to honor the forty year presence of the U.S. Air Force in Plattsburgh and the North Country. Our grand opening was June 6th, 2014. PAFB Museum is operated by the Battle of Plattsburgh Association, a not-for-profit, tax

-exempt 501(c)3 corporation. Museum hours are 10am to 3pm Wednesday through Saturday from May 1st to October 15th every year. Physical Address:

Here's an article with a video about PAFB's Atlas Missiles, especially focused on the silo in Alburg, VT. You'll note that there are several "enhanced artist concept" illustrations and one or two minor factual errors, but an overall nice job. Also, most of the illustrations and pictures are in the PAFB Museum collection.

Here's a recent blurb about the local amateur radio club setting up in the Atlas missile silo in Champlain NY and establishing contact with another club in another Atlas silo in Texas. The Champlain silo and launch control center was one of 12 in an arc operational around Plattsburgh from late 1962 until decommissioning in 1965.
