What an exciting year! We shared a whopping eight art events this past academic year, including five art exhibits featuring artworks by teens, students, regional artists, and art faculty. We also hosted a holiday art and craft sale, an artist talk with Bill Mitchell, and our first Slow Art Day event.

It’s time for the gallery to close for the summer but be on the lookout for opportunities to submit your artwork to our shows and events during this next academic year. A call for art for the UW-Platteville Alumni Art Exhibition will be published very soon, and the Small Works Exhibition will return to Nohr Gallery in 2027. We can’t wait to see you back in the gallery this fall!

Check out these serene watercolor paintings by Chantel Lynch, a Bachelor of Fine Arts student, traditional artist, and art educator based in Wisconsin.

Chantel focuses her creative practice on serving the rural areas she calls home. Chantel’s mission as an educator goes beyond teaching technique. She views art as a tool for reflection, growth, and connection for her students. Whether in the classroom or her studio, her work reflects her commitment to making art a welcoming and transformative experience.

According to Chantel, “Having my work included in this group show at the Nohr Gallery is a rewarding opportunity to share my work with the campus community that has supported my growth. It is an honor to exhibit alongside such talented peers and to mark this milestone in my journey as an artist within the university.”

Be sure to check out Chantel’s work in the BFA Group Exhibition at Nohr Gallery now until Wednesday, March 13.

The Chancellor’s Suite is home to quite a collection of artwork from both students and the university’s permanent collection. Each year, the Chancellor's Suite rotates their student artworks with new creations selected from the art program’s November Show and exhibits the work throughout their spaces.

This year's exhibiting student artists had the opportunity to share their insights today during a reception where they were also recognized for their excellent work. They did a great job!

Extra congratulations goes to Libby MacLean for hosting her Senior Show with us!

If you would like to see more artwork from the BFA students, be sure to check out their solo shows at various locations around town this Friday, May 1.
