PITTSVILLE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION INFORMATION
July 3rd Heart and Sole Road Race
The race begins with the kiddie race at 6:30 p.m. and the main event at 7 p.m. County Highway E/Veedum Street will be closed at the intersection with County Highway X and you will not be able to get into Pittsville from the west after 6 p.m. State Highway 80, State Highway 73, and Lincoln Rd will be the main routes into Pittsville. Reminder, the State Highway 73/State Highway 80 intersection by Cenex will be closed until Labor Day.
The fireworks will be on July 3rd after the race at dusk.
July 4th Parade
Parade will start at 11:30 with the kiddie parade and main parade to follow. If you are participating in the parade or coming to watch the parade, it is highly recommended to be in Pittsville before 11 a.m. 2nd Ave/State Highway 80 and roads accessing 2nd Ave/Hwy 80 on the parade route will be closed beginning at 11 a.m.
The parade route is being slightly changed to enhance safety and help parade participants return to the parade start or leave the city. The parade will turn right on Main Street at the post office and end at the intersection of Main Street and 1st Avenue. Attached is a map of the parade route.
Please plan your July 3rd and 4th celebration accordingly and give yourself plenty of time as there will be delays with the road construction and the large number of people attending the events. Also please be mindful of where you park and drive safely.
