Chandra will read The Data Detective at the Carnival!, the story of young William solving problems at the carnival., which she wrote with Jordan Morrow. It's a great introduction to fundamental data literacy skills, math concepts and counting. 📚🔎

✨ explore the process of mosaic tiling with sandi timbus in the art studio (10:30am – 12:30pm)
✨ create a collaborative beaded artwork with kathryn shriver in makeshop (1–3pm)
✨ experiment with photo manipulations and image blends with remixxel in museumlab (2–4pm)

Is it a hedgehog? A porcupine? No, it's a tenrec! Despite their looks, tenrec's are more closely related to elephants, manatees and aardvarks than other animals they resemble. Visit the Children's Museum next Sunday, March 23 from 1–3pm to meet one for yourself, along with other furry (or scaly) friends courtesy of the Pittsburgh Zoo.

Applications for the Tough Art Residency Program are due this Sunday, March 9. 🎨 This summer residency invites artists to work with museum staff and visitors to create a work of art that is "tough" enough to withstand rigorous interactive engagement.

Neurodivergent youth ages 8–12 and their families are invited to join us for a free sensory-friendly morning at MuseumLab on Saturday, March 8 from 10:00–11:30 am. Try hands-on engineering and design activities designed with neurodivergent learners in mind and explore interactive museum exhibits before they open to the public. Lullaby Project Pittsburgh is BACK for songwriting sessions at the Children's Museum on March 8 and April 12! 🎵 Work with musicians during a 90-minute songwriting session to write a collaborative lullaby.
