Somewhere between exhibits Peppy and I found a couple of days to escape the busy San Francisco and spend some time in the wilderness. Mokelumne Wilderness in the Sierras to be exact.
We are a bit sad to part with Kenichi’s amazing views of Hokkaido. And we are already starting on Kenichi’s next exhibit, 11 months from now.
Yet this Friday we are opening a new exhibit. We will be virtually traveling from Japan to the heart of Central Asia. From the vast landscapes of northern Japan to the ancient cities on the Silk Road.
Central Asia and Japan have an interesting connection. Both learned how to make paper around the same time. Both have generations of great artists who turned paper into art.
