Sterling Morrison is founding a member of the Velvet Underground. He met fellow band member, Lou Reed while attending Syracuse University and appeared in several films by Andy Warhol including "The Velvet Underground and Nico", "The Velvet Underground", and "The Velvet Underground Tarot Cards". This "Screen Test" begins with a close-up of Morrison's mouth as he is smoking a cigarette. When the camera zooms back it shows him with long hair and wearing a pair of dark sunglasses.

Happy Mother's Day!
Andy Warhol’s mother, Julia Warhola, had three sons, Paul, John, and Andy. She was an artist in her own right (cats and angels were her favorite things to illustrate) and in 1957 Warhol published a book of her drawings, "Holy Cats by Andy Warhol’s Mother". Her calligraphy in included in "25 Cats Name Sam and One Blue P***y" and Warhol also enlisted Julia to add her feminine and delicate penmanship to hundreds of his drawings, including advertisements, album covers, and book illustrations.

The Pop artist was born on this day in 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania. He was a friend of Warhol’s and his work was shown alongside Warhol’s in various exhibitions.
