Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh is growing along with your family, creating Museum Lab as a place where kids 10+ can have cutting-edge experiences in art, tech and learning. It’s just the thing for their inquiring minds, increasing skills and independent inclinations. Museum Lab is about experimenting and learning alongside our partner organizations that are helping us create programs for Museum

Lab, including Manchester Academic Charter School. You can get lost climbing, sliding and hanging out in a three-story artwork made with rope woven around the framework of the steel bookshelves of this former library (affectionately known as The Stacks, opening this summer.) And with the creation of Museum Lab, we’ll have created the largest cultural campus for children in the country. So bring the kids in your life - while they’ll still be seen with you.

Art making is just one of the ways to explore the concept of opposites in the Opposites Abstract exhibit. The Art Blender asks visitors to choose one element of art (shape, texture, color, form, space, etc.) and one of the opposites featured in the exhibit (dark/light, organic/mechanical, calm/excited).
