My current interests in pottery include black and white botanical prints, silhouettes, and deeply carved plates and bowls in a metallic finishes. I discovered that I could do bone carving by picking up a bone and carving it one day. Most of the bones that I've carved have come from deer that were killed by coyotes in the woods near my home, although people have been known to stop by the house and present me with a bag of bones on occasion. My newest projects incorporate both of these art forms.

I absolutely love teaching wheel throwing. Every lesson is customized to your skill level, so whether you are a total beginner or an experienced potter, I can help you get to the level of throwing you wish to achieve.

For those who want to increase their skills and confidence on the wheel, I offer packages of 4 private lessons plus practice time and clay. Contact me for questions, payment, and scheduling for packages.

You may also rent out my space for private pottery painting or handbuilding classes for up to 6 people.

Let's have some fun in the studio this year!

The focus and fun are real! This duo of moms and daughters took a private lesson on the pottery wheel then came back to glaze their pieces. Beautiful work all around, and so different from each other's. I love watching creativity unfold around me. Sign up for your own 90 min private lesson!

My next Open Studio is Saturday, March 23rd and Sunday, March 24th from 12-6 pm each day. Bring some friends and paint pottery, sign up for private lessons or lesson packages, buy a gift certificate, purchase pieces from my gallery, discuss a custom order, watch a pottery demo, enjoy home-baked treats.

Mark your calendars!

Both photos are of the same vase! Photo 1 was taken in a dim room and lit by one incandescent bulb from the side. Photo 2 was taken under bright overhead LED lights just after I finished painting it. Lighting makes a huge difference, doesn't it?

This vase still has to go through 2 firings before it's completed. The glaze firing will saturate the colors, so the pale blue background will be more pronounced by the end.

See this vase and many more next month at the National Arts & Crafts Convention and Show in Ashville, NC.

LGG Creative Art Open Studio & Pottery Sale is on Sunday, Jan. 14th from 12-6 and Monday, Jan 15th from 12-8.

1502 Hetzel Street in Spring Hill
No reservations are required--just come on by!

This is the perfect time to book your Valentine's / Galentine's private pottery lessons or small group parties and classes. Plus, I've made dozens of heart bowls (and many other pieces) that you can paint during open studio. My house is my gallery, so if you are looking for heirloom quality art or custom pieces, this is a great opportunity to shop for a special occasion.

Tour my studio and sign up for a "Try It! class, which is designed for people who have never made pottery on the wheel or haven't done it for many years. Sign up for yourself or bring a friend/date/partner/parent/child.

I will teach you how to throw a cup, bowl, planter, or small vase, and then you can come back to glaze your piece during an open studio event (scroll to see photos of a recent private paintinv party). I also offer lesson packages for those who want to expand their skills.

$20 for 1 large heart
$35 for 2 nesting hearts
$45 for 3 nesting hearts

I make each heart on the potter's wheel out of porcelain clay, then you get to bring them to life. And if hearts aren't your thing, I've got many other shapes to choose from.

Our Story

I am a self-taught potter and bone carver who has been working in clay since 2013.

I make 16 different styles of work, but the collection I’ve been focusing on for the past year in finishes that mimic pewter, copper, hematite, and gun metal. Many of the pieces in the Metallic Collection also feature the Roycroft logo, which makes them highly desired by collectors interested in Arts & Craft style work. To see examples of my different collections, locations of shops and galleries where you may purchase my work, and my list of current shows and classes, please visit my website at www.LGGCreativeArt.com.

For online purchases, please visit my Etsy shop at Etsy.com/shop/LGGCreativeArt I discovered that I could do bone carving by picking up a bone and carving it one day. Now I can't stop. Most of the bones that I've carved have come from deer that were killed by coyotes in the woods near my home, although people have been known to stop by the house and present me with a bag of bones on occasion. Most of my carvings become wall pieces or small sculptures, but recently I’ve begun to make pendants and earrings out of bone, fur, feathers, and other natural elements. These are really cool statement pieces that you simply will not find anywhere else. When my collection gets a bit larger, I will post it on my Etsy page.

Because I enjoy making many different types of work, I get a lot of requests for custom pieces. If you would like something unique and wonderful for your home, business, or to give as a special gift, please check out the many photos on my website (LGGCreativeArt.com) then give me a call (315-750-5022) or shoot me an email ([email protected]) to discuss what you’d like me to make.
