About Jameelah's show:
"Golden hours/Where we shine" explores the ways community, memory, and home are
connected. Through collage and paintings of interior and exterior spaces ,this exhibition reflects
on the spaces that shape us and the stories they hold. Homes are more than just buildings; they
are places of love, comfort, and history. I invite guest to explore theres sense of play and create
with me over these next few weeks ,to create their own artwork inspired by the paintings,
allowing the exhibition to grow and change over time, just like our neighborhoods, families, and
memories do.

Does your cat love to hunt? Are they bored with the usual toys? Well then have we got a workshop for you! Learn to make your own cat toys from recycled and craft material. These modular designs will be sure to bring out the hunter in your fur babies!

We will have all the materials you’ll need, as well as instruction from our fabulous and creative Assemble teachers! Your ticket also includes a regular-sized Two Frays beer! We can’t wait to see what y’all make with us.

Northgate's Half-Day Summer STEAM Camps are back this year at Suburban General. Registration is now open for rising first through eighth grade students.

The Assemble Summer Camp will take place from June 30 - August 8, 2025. This 6-week camp will run on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering hands-on fun and engaging activities in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM).

We are ! Assemble is seeking a Grant Writer & Coordinator to take the lead on identifying and securing funding opportunities. More details below, link to apply in bio.

A full-time position, this roles responsibilities includes researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals to acquire funding, writing grant reports, and working with Assemble’s leadership team to ensure the organization is meeting its capital targets each year.

Candidates should be able to draft proposals that are coherent, organized, and detailed while also holding true to Assemble’s tone. This role is collaborative; the Grant Writer and Coordinator will work with Assemble's staff, Executive Director, and Program Officers across Pittsburgh.

February is ! Here at Assemble we celebrate Black innovators and artists who inspire our lessons for our STEAM Afrofuturism lessons, this month and year-round.

Artist Jean-Michel Basquiat inspired our Basquiat Crowns lesson, where students learn about his Neo-expressionist paintings and life in New York. Then, students make their own crowns to wear and remind them of their royal ancestry.

Local Pittsburgh artist Alisha B Wormsley inspires our Wormsley Mural lesson, with a collaborative project students get to work on together. In 2017, Wormsley painted a mural in East Liberty reading “There Are Black People in The Future”, but it was later taken down. In this lesson, students learn about Wormsley’s work, her impact on Pittsburgh, then make and hang a poster together with the same tagline in their classroom.

Join us in celebrating and amplifying the voices, achievements, and impact of Black innovators and artists here in Pittsburgh and beyond.

Join Buzz Me In for an enlightening workshop where you'll explore the world of beginner spicy toys with expert guidance. Whether you attend as partnered people, with friends, or on your own, this workshop caters to anyone curious about enhancing their toy collection or trying something new.

This workshop is ideal for couples or partnered people seeking to deepen intimacy, friend groups looking to explore together, and individuals interested in expanding their knowledge of beginner toys in a comfortable and informative setting.

Not only that, but our very own Nina Barbuto will be leading us in creating your very own craft vi****or with sewable circuits!

21+ Nights include instruction, materials, snacks, and drinks! Free tickets are available for Garfield residents, with a selected number of scholarship tickets also available to anyone for whom full-price tickets are prohibitive!

Ticket prices cover the cost of staff time, materials, and food & beverages. Any amount made beyond these expenses goes towards supporting Assemble’s free STEAM programs, such as afterschool and summer camps!

CALLING ALL SUPERHEROS! 🦸‍♀️🦸We have a fun half day camp coming up in February. Superheroes in Training Day Camp is where kids discover their inner hero! Campers will design their own superhero personas, create capes and masks, and tackle fun "hero training" challenges to build teamwork, bravery, and problem-solving skills. Through hands on and collaborative activities, they'll learn what it means to be a hero and to look out for their community.

This is one of Assemble's favorite events of the year - a time when our community comes together to have fun making art together, to then be displayed side by side in the Unblurred gallery. It's truly amazing to see so much creativity all in one place. Thank you to all the artists and volunteers who make this special event happen! 🧡✨

This Friday, 6x6 pieces will be on display and available for purchase at Assemble.
