I just switched from using clear hex bases to black round bases. I print these myself, so I can control the quality. They are a single piece and have a tapered peg for a secure fit. The downside was that I had to update about 100 product entries on my shop page ( https://0-hr.com/Shop/index.htm ) and Etsy ( https://www.etsy.com/shop/PortZero ). This required a lot of new pictures so I broke out some of my boardgames and sci-fi books to use as backdrops. Here are a few of my favorites:

Though the campaign is still a month or two away, here's a preview: it's the Trajan-class battleship (shown alongside the NERO freight hauler, which I'm updating for 3D printing, rather than casting). Trajan is the second ship in my "Project Imperator" line and I wanted to get the miniature ready first to make sure it was feasible to produce. So far, so good, though I'm making the "wings" separate from the hull so the ship can fit in a poster tube.

The "Kaeru & Company" campaign is online now. It features a scout ship and ultralight carrier - both designed to transport the Sasori-class heavy fighter. This is a "small ship" project with a half-size poster, a set of miniatures, and supporting documents. The campaign wraps up on December 6th and will start shipping immediately after that.

The Lochlyn IX asteroid base campaign is now online (and funded)! Housing about 200 personnel, it's a combination research outpost, medical facility, and defense platform with both civilian and military duties.

The campaign includes two poster maps, a large resin miniature, and digital documents & images. The maps can also be used to represent a surface-based facility if desired. It's on Kickstarter now and will start shipping in a few weeks.

I'll be on vacation for much of September, but here's a peek at what I'm working on - and what I hope to launch on Kickstarter in early October. The minis aren't to scale (the asteroid base would be much larger, but it already uses up a LOT of resin - even hollowed).

The "Landing Zones" campaign is wrapping up today and will start shipping by the end of the week! This one presents an urban/imperial bay that stretches across two posters and can accommodate most of the single-poster Armada ships. A similar landing area in a desert city environment is on the back of the posters. Giant digital images of 40+ ships are included to print out or digitally paste into the landing zones. So now, if you have a ship - you have a place to park.

The digital version is for sale at DriveThru (where just about everything is 25% off for a couple more days) and the physical version will eventually be at 0-hr.com and on Etsy.

The Quixote/Coyote campaign is online now, featuring a pair of similar - yet vastly different - ships. Quixote is a roving justicar - a knight errant given the task of patrolling deep space to keep the trade lanes safe from reavers and pirates. The Coyote is (mostly) a Quixote-class ship. It lost a fight to a band of outlaws and now serves those it previously hunted as a grungy, cobbled-together pirate ship. The project presents complete deckplans on two sides of a 24x36 inch poster, plus a pair of ship miniatures and supporting digital documents.

The "Valhalla Trio" campaign has a few more days to go. This is another small ship project with a half-size poster and set of four miniatures featuring three different ships.

The Valhalla-class drop ship is designed to carry troops and an APC into combat from low orbit. The Pilgrim-class general transport carries up to 8 crew and passengers between distant stars. And the Fairlane 4000 is a luxury shuttle perfect for a wealthy couple, CEO, or crime lord plus a chauffeur, and also comes in a combat variant.

Here are some photos by Justin Schmid from his Aliens/Expanse game using Cervantes with risers from Combat Tier for that real 3D feel. It's the first time I've seen this approach, but it's a great idea for ships with a vertical layout like this.

I just added a collection of "small craft" tokens to my site. This is a big PNG image with a transparent background so the vehicles can be cut out to use on VTT and such.

I'm currently running a sci-fi settings campaign that features "Club Rikani", a four-level entertainment complex. There's a restaurant at ground level; a casino, boxing ring, and nightclub on the second floor; and a high-roller VIP area on the top level. The basement holds a seedy massage parlor, grungy card room, interrogation chamber, and vault.

I've just launched a fun new campaign featuring "Rocketships & Flying Saucers" for all of your retro sci-fi needs. This is, technically, a "small ship" campaign as it features an 18x24 inch poster and a set of five miniatures. Best of all, the goods should be in your hands well in time for the holidays.

The Citadel Secundus campaign has come to a successful conclusion. Posters are being mailed and links to the digital documents have been sent out. Now on to the next project! (I'll post here and at https://0-hr.com/ when that goes live.)

Miniature sales at Port Zero (my new Etsy shop at https://www.etsy.com/shop/PortZero ) are going well. As part of creating that shop I had a photoshoot with some of my miniatures. I posted some pics before, but here are some more. It's a great excuse to break out the board games that have been gathering dust throughout the pandemic.
