0-hr: art & technology

The Retro Stations campaign is wrapping up, and will start shipping within a week. As part of the digital documents, I created an alien version of the Saturn-class defense platform. With this on the invader's side, the teams will be evenly matched after Earth's new "Atomic Battleship" arrives this winter.

The current 0-hr.com Kickstarter project presents deckplans and miniatures for a pair of space stations that would be at home in a vintage story or a more typical sci-fi campaign.

Guardian HQ is a small asteroid base, and the Saturn-class defense platform is a ring station carrying a wing of Astrojet space fighters. Poster maps and miniatures are available for the stations and fighters.

I dislike the idea of A.I. "art" more than most, but I'm not above seeing what it can do (for free). I had Gemini animate a few pictures of my V'lar bio-tech ships, and this is the result. Some wonky stuff (the Manta 'flapping' is hilarious), but also some cool vibes (like that alternate Hammerhead near the end). I'll be homeless as soon as A.I. can produce decent ship miniatures, but for now it's cute.

The latest project from 0-hr.com presents a fleet of ships for table top battles and RPGs.

With six different ship models, three posters' worth of deck plans, and piles of digital documents, the campaign runs for a couple of weeks and starts shipping within the month. Check it out at

The next campaign from 0-hr.com is online now! Freeport One is a medium-large outpost that rounds out my collection of ring-shaped stations with complete deckplans on a pair of posters, a detailed resin miniature, and digital documents.

Fullfillment has wrapped up on the Shadow Wolf / Kitsune campaign, and the next project is well into production. It's a 2-poster space station that should be online in a couple of weeks; a ring larger than Waypoint 39 but smaller than Augustus.

To celebrate the conclusion of the current campaign, here are the Wolves of Albion, well-painted in matching livery by Michael J Withers; plus a Trajan-class battleship and a pair of Quixote to round out the fleet.

I've been experimenting with STL sales so people with 3D printers can make 0-hr ships at home. Initially, I released the files to print the ships from my Shadowstar Corsairs board game. This week, I've added 8 additional models to that first dozen. If things continue to go well, I'll keep expanding the selection until, eventually, all but the newest ships are online for home-printing.

If you have a resin 3D printer at home, check out the offerings at MyMiniFactory and at Port Zero on Etsy.
