On a rare occasion, sometimes the staff at the museum open up the dome & use the telescope. Here’s a look at what we saw on July 4th

This telescope is a Celestron, 16-inch, Schmidt Cassegrain style telescope. With the telescope, the viewer is able to see the craters on the moon like shown below. We’ve also been able to see the rings of Saturn, sun spots, and the eclipses.

If you would like to visit the Bayernhof Museum, as well as see the observatory, please call 412-782-4231 to schedule an appointment. At the Bayernhof, well before it became an official museum, one of the first residents to stay at the house was Johnny’s beautiful German Shepard Burgy. We recently found these photos and had to share her sweet face. If you keep an eye out on the tour, you may be able to spot a picture or two of her along the way!

This weekend, head on over to visit our friends at Eleventh Hour Brewing Co. for Lawrenceville Days!

They’re hosting tours throughout their building both Saturday and Sunday mornings (tours must be booked in advance). You’ll get to see how they produce their beer, what they’ve done with the space, the German Village and unseen spaces that aren’t typically open to the public. After that they’ll be open for the day to celebrate Lawrenceville’s 191st birthday!

Fun fact, Eleventh Hour is located in what used to be Gas Lite Manufacturing. This location is where Charlie’s show room (the “German Village”) and offices were.

We are so happy that Eleventh Hour is continuing to show off some of Charlie’s old spaces and celebrate the uniqueness of it, while also making the building their own! We hope to see you there! 🍻

Ever wanted to get a look behind the scenes at Eleventh Hour? See where the beer is made? Get a look at the German Village without all the people? Ever wanted to learn about the history of our 19th century building? Well, you’re in luck!

As part of our Lawrenceville Daze celebration, we are offering an exclusive behind the scenes tour of our entire building from 10:30-12. You’ll get a tour of the brewhouse and production area, learning about how we craft our special beers. Our tour guide will then lead you through the less seen areas of the building including the Barrel Room, German Village, and additional areas (yes, there’s more to be seen beyond the German Village). All along the way, you’ll learn the history of our brewery, the building, and its previous occupants.

Your event ticket includes two 8 oz pours of your choice, a reserved spot on this exclusive tour, and an Eleventh Hour merch pack.

This tour is extremely limited, so book your tickets through the link in our bio today!
