EXHIBIT ANNOUNCEMENT:
We are thrilled to present a selection of paintings on paper and canvas by Chuck Olson as he explores the human impulse to find structure within an uncertain and constantly changing world.
Each painting establishes a sense of place through an horizon line—a simple, familiar point of departure that defines space, direction, and gravity. From there, form, color, gesture, and fragments of experience unfold in unexpected ways.
The works reflect the artist’s belief that painting is a means of organizing life itself: a place where art, history, travel, family, teaching, learning, and everyday encounters become tangible. Yet these compositions resist fixed interpretations. Like stepping alone into an unfamiliar landscape, they invite pause, discovery, and individual navigation.
