Some of tonight's costume and accessory options for Costumed Figure Drawing 6-8 Spinning Plate Gallery. I also brought my face paints and we may have a zombie model for a portion of the session.

The Busnegie Museum of Art, an idea of Pittsburgh artist Suzanne Werder, is a temporary art museum in bus shelters featuring the work of Pittsburgh artists. It was located inside a bus shelter outside the Carnegie Museum of Art and then moved to a bus shelter at the intersection of Craig Street and Fifth Avenue. Through grants and crowdfunding, the ad space was purchased and art was put there instead. Additional art was installed guerrilla style including finger knit plastic bags and art printed on clear acetate. Future Busnegie projects look to print the work of local artists on large vinyl signs and put them up in the community in underutilized aesthetically challenged spaces such as poles, fences, bridges and columns.
One of the target audiences of the first iterations, was the arts professionals attending the Carnegie International exhibition at the Carnegie Museum of Art, to provide opportunity for the local artists involved and propel their careers. The second target audience was and is people who do not have a relationship with art and rarely (if ever) attend museums or galleries. By bringing art to them in the very egalitarian space of bus shelters, the Busnegie seeks to remedy the (often correct) perception that art is elitist and stuffy. To further promote the arts to those who are economically disadvantaged, the Busnegie publicizes the little known fact that people who receive government services and have an ACCESS card can attend the Carnegie with up to 3 other people for just $1 each.
The Busnegie was invited to collaborate on planning a party and it was an incredible event. Future arty parties are being planned!
