Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, a great steel and glass Victorian greenhouse, has been inviting visitors to explore the beauty and mysteries of plants since 1893. Set amidst one of Pittsburgh's largest greenspaces, Schenley Park, Phipps Conservatory stands as a cultural and architectural centerpiece of the city's Oakland neighborhood. In recent decades, Phipps has evolved into one of the region's most vibrant, thriving cultural attractions, bringing fresh perspectives and artists into our historic glasshouse environment. Phipps has also become a strong advocate for advanced green-building practices, sustainable gardening and a new environmental awareness.

Our Fall Flower Show: Alice's Adventures in Autumn is filled with over 80 varieties of chrysanthemums!🤯🌸

Expertly grown for over 20 weeks in our greenhouses, these seasonal staples shine in an endless array of shapes, sizes and colors! Some of the featured varieties include:

Enjoy a serene stroll through amazing autumnal displays at our upcoming Sensory Inclusive Time!😊

Join us on Sun., Oct. 25 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. for a self-guided visit to the Conservatory to enjoy Fall Flower Show: Alice's Adventures in Autumn. To ensure a peaceful walk through, lights and sounds will be minimized. Participants will receive a social story via email detailing the experience prior to arrival.🍄🌸

Did you know that the last time Alice in Wonderland made an appearance at Phipps was over 60 years ago?😱

For this , let's peek at the 1966 Fall Flower Show which highlighted a display for the 101st anniversary of Lewis Carroll’s timeless tale! In what is now known as the South Conservatory, this croquet scene featured Alice with a flamingo mallet, topiary croquet balls and toadstool mushrooms as colorful disbud chrysanthemums framed the garden.🌸🦩

🧚✨Escape into a mystical forest containing the magical realms of fabulous fairies and gnomes!✨🧚

Step into the South Conservatory during this year's Garden Railroad to discover this world of wonder on a miniature scale! These adorable fantasy characters can be found hard at work, enjoying activities and socializing in their villages as dragonflies, snails and other woodland creatures join them amongst lush greenery.🐌🌿
