Have you ever heard of Floriography?🧐🌸

Otherwise known as the language of flowers, Floriography refers to when flowers are ascribed meanings. While this symbolism spans across many different cultures, this practice would gain popularity in late 1800s France and England! Being considered a "proper hobby" during this period led to many flower dictionaries being published at the time.

On Wed., April 9, author Erika Howsare will explore the many facets of deer, one of the only large wild animals that most Americans encounter in their daily lives. In this talk, Erika will focus on the history of deer and their changing populations in the U.S.

🌿Speakers will be hosted virtually, but the virtual sessions can be enjoyed in-person at our Botany Hall Auditorium or online via Zoom at your home.🌿

The Himalayan blue poppy has returned to Phipps! 😱

Back in October, the Phipps team received poppy crowns from a breeder in Alaska and have spent the last five months preparing these notably hard to grow and rare flowers. After months of growing, guests can now marvel at these blue botanical wonders when they visit our Spring Flower Show: A Bloom for Every Room!🤩💙
