Hi friends....Thanks to everyone who visited the studio last weekend. If you didn't make it, fear not! Here's a small sample of pots that are still available and as I post this, I am firing the final kiln of the year which will be opened friday night. It is full of bowls, plates, cups, oval bakers, hand-built platters, ramekins....and more. Hope you can come check it out!

I have a long-standing deal with kids that if they bring in a piece of art they made, I will trade them for one of my pots. I've gotten a lot of great stuff over the years. This is a painting by a talented young artist named Miles. He brought it in yesterday and let me have it in exchange for a porcelain vase he liked. I love it!

I am not a painter, but if I was, I'd be pleased with how this one came out. The canvas is a kiln shelf that I just happened to notice and photograph before grinding it clean for a final firing. The artist is the fire - the protective wash of alumina and kaolin captured the flow and dance of flames, soda vapors and volatized metals through the kiln. Beautiful accident!
