VENDORS WANTED! There’s still time to join us for a one-of-a-kind experience at Horne Creek! If you have something special to share, we’d love to have you apply. Come be a part of Horne Creek Farm’s Annual Cornshucking Frolic, happening Saturday, October 17, 2026, 10 AM – 5 PM.

We’re looking for vendors featuring locally made foods, sweets, sauces & artisan goods; handmade crafts & original art —we want to hear from you. We’re especially interested in vendors who can showcase or tie in with our festive autumn theme.
If your booth can capture the feeling of crisp leaves, harvest time, and fall fun — we’d love to have you be part of the day!

No tree sales from September 15 to 18th.

Starting September 19th, Heritage Apple Trees will be available to purchase every day until sold out.

The North Carolina Living Historical Farm Committee, Inc. will start its “Heirloom Apple Tree Sale” at Horne Creek Farm beginning Saturday, September 12th. The sale will be held at the back of the Horne Creek Visitor Center from 9 a.m. to 4 pm.

The trees will be $25 each. All proceeds from the sale of the apple trees will be used specifically to benefit the Southern Heritage Apple Orchard. Featuring a nice selection of grafted heritage trees from the Southern Heritage Apple Orchard.

Acceptable methods of payment include Cash, Check, Visa, Discover, or Mastercard.

A rare 1776 printing of the US Declaration of Independence has been discovered in the United Kingdom’s National Archives.
It was found during a cataloguing project exploring Royal Navy captains' papers from the American Revolutionary War.
The document was among papers seized when the American privateer Dalton was captured by the Royal Navy on Christmas Eve 1776. Listed at the time simply as ‘another paper’, it has now been identified as a contemporary printing of the Declaration.

Bennett Place Historic Site, Charlotte Hawkins Brown Museum State Historic Site, the CSS Neuse Civil War Museum, and Alamance Battleground State Historic Site are closed July 4 to participate in Capitol 250: NC Freedom Fest.

We’re celebrating spring with a special tea, perfect for sharing with your mother, daughter, granddaughter, or best friend. Spaces are still available for our Spring Victorian Tea on April 25th, 2026, from 2:00 pm -4:00 pm at Horne Creek Farm State Historic Site.

Linger in comfort while we treat you to an afternoon of satisfying savory bites, baked goods, and sweet treats, along with a lovely spot of tea!

Spend the time visiting with dear friends or making new ones as we partake in the tradition of High Tea. Bring your laughter and unravel the history, sample the flavors, and experience an afternoon of pure enjoyment while celebrating the beauty of Spring!

Festive Tea attire is encouraged but not necessary. A variety of accessories will be available to purchase at the tea.

Pardon us for butting in on your timeline- we have an important update!

Horne Creek Farm will be closed this week (April 21-24) to take care of some site maintenance.

The site (and the goats) look forward to welcoming visitors back at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 25.
