Bear Hollow Pottery

Bear Hollow Pottery Handmade pottery since 1976 made by David Johnson. Studio and gallery are located just off hwy 71 on the Mo-Ark state line in the foothills of the Ozarks.

Bear Hollow Pottery was founded by David Johnson back in 1976. Dave was taught in the Bauhaus style, a style that originated in Germany under the core belief that "Form follows Function." Born and raised on a farm in Minnesota, Dave attended Luther College to obtain his pre-med degree. In hopes of alleviating some stress from his course load, he signed up for a pottery elective. Immediately after

that class period, he went to his adviser, dropped his current classes, and changed his major from pre-med to ceramic art. After graduating in 1975, he saved up money from teaching for a year and moved to Norhtwest Arkansas where he bought a church-turned-studio and established Bear Hollow Pottery. Now, 38 years later, Bear Hollow Pottery is still producing beautiful pieces that are as useful as they are visually stunning.
