Join Tommy Chamberlin this Sunday morning, April 24, at Esserville Community Church in Norton, VA for "Mysteries of the Bible." Tommy is a staff member of the archaeological excavation to Tel Shiloh in Israel - the site listed in the Bible as the home of the Tabernacle, Ark of the Covenant and the setting of Hannah's prayer and the prophet Samuel's early years.
The presentation will focus on how Biblical archaeology illuminates the text of the Bible. Was there really an Exodus of Israelites from Egypt? Did the walls of Jericho actually come tumbling down? What were the 30 pieces of silver given to Judas Iscariot to betray Jesus of Nazareth? Questions like these and many others will be tackled in this introductory presentation to Biblical archaeology.
On display will be a collection of authentic ancient artifacts from the Holy Land the help illuminate the text. The artifact display will feature items from the time of Abraham to the time of Jesus spanning approximately 2,000 years of history from the Holy Land.
