Happy May! Here is a flower piece that I really enjoyed creating. The pics are included below so you can see the progress over a few weeks. The butterflies were made using the “freeze and fuse” method. Some petals were made be slicing color bars with my ring saw.

When I start a floral piece I have no idea how it will evolve. It’s a fun journey.

I have learned (relearned) two valuable fusing lessons this past week…. Too much rushing or maybe complacency.

1) Don’t rush at any step. This is a piece of art not a speed competition.

2) Don’t skip any step no matter how small it is.

Here is my experience last week with pics. Read captions…. You may relate with them if you are a fellow fuser.

Also layout the various colors in order before starting the project. It goes a lot smoother and easier.

I will cut off the one piece that fell and still drape it. Maybe next week.

Glass weaving is a highly rewarding craft. This piece was draped over a brick covered with fiber cloth. Assembling it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The steps are outlined in the accompanying photographs below. It will undoubtedly be a great addition for my July 4th celebration.

Attention all parties, I have recently encountered two suspicious messages inquiring about purchasing a specific piece, both of which exhibited characteristics of scams. Notably, one of the messages included a photograph of my scrap materials, requesting to purchase it. The scammer then claimed to have made payment via Venmo and subsequently sent a text purporting to be from Venmo, stating the transaction was pending and prompting me to call a non-Venmo number. Fortunately, I recognized the tactic. Fellow artists are advised to exercise caution. Scammers are encouraged to reconsider their approach and explore legitimate means of income.
