This early 70's Seagrave Engine from Benson, Arizona, is a wonderful unrestored example of the past. She has a 1250gpm pump, a 500 gallon booster tank, and carried a full compliment of attack and supply hose. If needed, she's not far from ready to be placed back into service.

Come on by and see this awesome apparatus, as well as many others we have on display, which spans from 1725 through 2006.

A safe and happy Juneteenth from the Hall of Flame Museum of Firefighting! African-American history includes firefighting history, from New York firefighter Molly Williams on through today; come in and check out our exhibits including “Big Bertha,” a Champion/Christie water tower first used by an African-American fire station in Toledo, Ohio, a fire hat in the style of—possibly the work of—painter David Bustill Bowser, and our exhibit honoring inventor Garrett Morgan, who developed one of the first successful smoke masks; he used it himself to save lives! The display is seen here with our friend Gabrielle Gueye, Morgan’s great-granddaughter!

The Hall of Flame Museum, the world’s largest museum of firefighting history, will have the honor to host an exhibit of a steel beam from the World Trade Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 17. The exhibit is free with regular museum admission.

Mounted in a truck with panels that open for display, the beam is the centerpiece of the nationwide “Steel Across America” tour by Tunnel to Towers (aka T2T), spanning 35 cities in 21 states. T2T is a service organization founded in memory of FDNY firefighter Steven Siller, who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

At the Hall of Flame on Wednesday, June 17, the exhibit will be placed in Gallery III alongside Rescue 4 from Queens, a 1996 HME/Saulsbury FDNY Rescue rig which responded to the WTC on 9/11; the crew was lost. Rescue 4 was later donated to the Hall of Flame and has been on display here for several years now as part of our permanent collection. Damaged in the attacks, the rig has undergone extensive restoration and repair in its time at the Hall of Flame.

A T2T and FDNY Ceremonial Team will arrive at the Hall of Flame at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 for a museum tour and photo ops. At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the Steel Across America exhibit will depart from the Hall of Flame Museum for an evening display at USS Arizona Memorial Gardens at Salt River, 7455 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale. RSVP for the event by email at [email protected]

We are deeply and truly honored to have in our museum this amazing tribute piece, which honors what transpired to our nation as a whole, on that fateful date....September 11, 2001.

In cooperation with Tunnels-2-Towers, we have on display in Gallery 3- Steel Across America.

This rig is carrying a piece of steel and concrete pulled from the rubble of the South Tower of The World Trade Center. The display honors ALL those who made the ultimate sacrifice on that tragic day, and continues to honor ALL those who wear the badg or the uniform.

This touching tribute sits alongside FDNY'S Rescue 4, which had also responded to the Twin Towers, and is on permanent display after a multi year restoration.

Come by and see these amazing and wonderful pieces. Hurry though, because the Steel Across America will only be with us tomorrow, June 17th, until 3:00pm.
