MIM fosters appreciation of the world’s diverse cultures by showing how we innovate, adapt, and learn from each other to create music—the language of the soul. We invited professional malunga player Hamid Sidi to visit our galleries and see an exhibit in our STEM Gallery that features a mural of him playing his instrument.

We joined Hamid as he saw the display, explored the museum, and discovered connections between the malunga and instruments from other parts of the world—including the Brazilian berimbau, another musical bow.
