Women and girls dressed in white filled the park.

Drums filled the air.

Voices rose in song.

Inspired by the spirit of Sowei, we gathered to honor the women who carry culture forward, the women whose wisdom guides us, whose strength sustains families and communities, and whose presence connects generations.

West African Masks in Motion: Sierra Leone was a celebration of Black women, community, tradition, and the living spirit of Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 .

A special thank you to the Liberian Women’s Chorus for Change, whose voices brought even more beauty and meaning to the day.

Many thanks to the community. Your participation and presence is what transforms these gatherings from events to meaningful cultural experiences.
