The Philadelphia Ship Preservation Guild has immediate openings for Winter Maintenance Crew. Applicants should have a minimum of two years service aboard traditional sailing vessel, including maintenance and/or repair experience. Carpentry, Engineering, or Rigging skills a plus. These are paid positions, running through May 2020. Housing is provided aboard Gazela. Applicants should be self-motivated, as well as comfortable working with and instructing volunteers.
PSPG maintains and operates the 1901 barkentine Gazela Primeiro, the 1902 tugboat Jupiter, and the workshop barge Poplar.
Projects will include, but not be limited to;
Downrigging Gazela's upper spars using ship's gear
Winter cover
Topsides repair
Spar maintenance
Engineering maintenance on Gazela and Jupiter
Welded repairs and painting aboard Poplar

This Saturday on Nov 11/12, Gazela will be moved south on the dock starting at 0900. Also, climbers and crew are needed to help remove booms and braces, as the ship gets ready for the winter cover installation next weekend. There's a free meal being served on Saturday, courtesy of Campos Deli
