This , give the gift of education and help support the History Hunters Youth Reporter Program. This year we will reach over 3,500 Philadelphia schoolchildren through our in-person, virtual, and outreach field trips and lessons.

After his students’ first History Hunters lesson last week, a 4th grade teacher wrote, “Students are really becoming engaged in the history and are so excited about visiting the museum soon!” This program brings local history to life for students and provides opportunities to learn and participate in ways that are not always available in a classroom setting.

Thank you for helping to ensure that this needed program continues for many years to come by donating today at https://www.stenton.org/givingtuesday

Stenton’s collection is a constant source of inspiration for our interpretation and programming! We’ve been committed to furnishing Stenton with family objects since our beginnings as a museum, and continue to be guided by The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America- Pennsylvania's commitment to preserving and stewarding the past.

Over the past year, we’ve continued to evaluate our collection and how it aligns with our interpretative and collecting goals. This has included a deaccessioning project to narrow the focus of our textile collection to family objects in order to better concentrate our resources on the preservation of early Logan family textiles. To take a closer look at these objects and to learn about their importance to Stenton, check out our digital program from last winter here: https://youtu.be/nAvq03RciqM?si=Wn4UFaed0QYvH6ZH

Your support this helps Stenton continue to keep the collections (including the house as primary artifact) at the heart of all we do. Your gift enables us to steward our collections and undertake conservation work to ensure these objects continue to be a source of meaning for scholars, supporters, and visitors. Donate today and help us reach our matching goal of $10,000 at https://www.stenton.org/givingtuesday

THANK YOU for your most generous gifts of interest and support!

It's ! Stay tuned throughout the day as we highlight the exciting happenings here at Stenton that continue to thrive thanks to supporters like you.

Community Engagement has become a major focus for Stenton, which is located at the intersection of three neighborhoods - Logan, Nicetown, and Germantown. The heart of this work is relationship building, establishing goodwill, and encouraging equity, and Stenton has done just that. From deepening our relationship with Logan Elementary by participating in their year-round activities, to supporting the Stenton Park Advisory Council's community enrichment efforts, and handing over Second Saturday programming to near neighbors and local organizations, Stenton has had quite the year!

Your gift today allows Stenton and its community partnerships to dream even bigger in 2024, not just once, but twice, thanks to the $5,000 matching gift opportunity. Please donate here: https://www.stenton.org/givingtuesday

is one week away, and we would like to take some time to thank all of YOU, our wonderful supporters. This fall, Stenton will reach over 3,500 students through our History Hunters Youth Reporter Program. Our in-person field trips are going strong, but a drastic increase in bus prices has limited the amount of fully subsidized trips we can provide. Because of this, we continue to offer virtual and outreach lessons to reach as many Philadelphia students and teachers as we can. History Hunters continues to adapt and grow, and we couldn't have done it without you!

When you participate in Giving Tuesday, you will help us take full advantage of our $5,000 matching gift challenge, and you will be doubling your support for programs like History Hunters. Learn more at www.stenton.org/givingtuesday.

Attention High School Teachers and Students! See the post below for details on the NSCDA Congressional Essay Contest - deadline is December 1st!

Attention all High School Teachers and Students!

The Congressional Essay Contest is run by NSCDA Corporate Societies and Town Committees across the United States. Freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year high school students submit essays that are then judged and awarded.

The essay topic changes annually. This year the NSCDA asks students to answer the prompt:

“Why did the nation’s founders choose a government with separated powers rather than a parliamentary system?”

Winners receive full tuition and travel to the Washington Workshops “Congressional Seminar,” a week-long civic-focused adventure in our nation’s capital. The seminar provides two meals daily and an additional per diem, university campus housing and access to world-class museums, government offices, and memorable tours.

To learn more and to complete the application, visit https://nscda.org/student-resources/congressional-essay-contest/
