These are the Bundu helmet mask of the Mende women of Sierra Leone. They are worn in parades that honor the women who have their own secret society, as that of the men . The Sande women are one of few African groups of women who have their society that they secretly maintain.

All of these photos are of one 4ft mask from the
Kolongo people of the Ivory Coast. The details and colors is quite beautiful. The birds on the top represent an opening of the future
in Africa's history. They say birds fly forward and are close to God.

Two antiques at Tribal Home. We have a new collection of old Indigo Cloths . This cloth comes from Africa too far and few in between as these cloths are known for the process of using indigo to create these woven treasures . The aging has made them soft and the patchwork on the cloths shows the tribal repairs due to the aging.

Sonikey vessel from Gambia

This is a relic, it has been passed down for 8 generations. It was passed down from a grandfather to his son to pass down to sons in the family. We are honored to be the host of the sale of this generations coveted vessel. Small Treasures out of Africa can be as strong as the larger treasures. This beaded figure from Cameroon from the Bamileke people, who are known for their bead work, is represented in this small treasure.
