So grateful for a great opening this Tuesday!

It was one of those evenings where you’re so caught up in good conversations and seeing familiar and new faces that you realize, much too late, that you’ve taken no photographs. 😅 I had to scrounge around for these!

Thank you to EVERYONE who came, supported, chatted, looked, asked questions, and made the evening so special. And a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Mussawir Gallery for making it all happen.

I’ve had my work up at Avid Learning Middle East for the last few months alongside an awesome lineup of artists (shoutout to Kenneth Sagar and Shahzad Hassan Ghazi). I was pretty bummed to miss the opening, but I’m so glad the wonderful team at Avid is hosting a closing so I can finally be there!

Excited to share that I’m part of the ZairaZakaStudio Residency for Printmaking! ✨

I’ll soon be spending a week in Pakistan, making intaglio prints and finding my way back to the press after more than a decade away. It feels a little surreal to be returning to a process I once spent so much time with, and I can’t wait to get my hands dirty again.

I’m incredibly grateful to the studio for going so far out of its way to accommodate me and for somehow managing to provide almost everything I’ve asked for.

The residency itself is fantastic, but the people make it even better. The selection of residents has been spot on, and I’m delighted to be sharing the space with some of my favorite artists and humans!

I finally said bye to most of my hair ✂️

And I’m disproportionately excited because it means I finally have a giant bundle of hair to work with. I've wanted to use my own hair in a project for years, and now I actually can.

BUT, we’ll have to wait. I'm currently running from one deadline to the next and barely keeping up as it is. So for now, the hair goes into storage while I tackle the mountain of work already in my studio.

Thank you, MacDowell, for six unforgettable weeks: my studio Firth, new and beautiful friendships, mind blowing food, two holidays and my birthday, all held in spectacular fashion.
