Trick-or-treating with local businesses, games, crafts, a costume contest, and a pumpkin decorating contest! 🍬🕸️

Pumpkin decorating contest: You can drop off your decorated pumpkins at the museum now through October 23 to enter! 🎃

Local businesses: If you haven't signed up to participate yet but would like to, we only have a few spots left (written in pink)! call us to claim your spot!

Our first three contestants have arrived! 🎃

The pumpkins are starting to roll in for our Pumpkin Decorating Contest, and we want to see what YOU can come up with!

Pumpkin Contest Details:
-Drop off your decorated pumpkin at the Museum of the Plains now till October 23rd
-Free to enter!
-All ages welcome
-Pumpkins will be on display at the museum for visitors to enjoy
-Winners will be announced after our Trick - or - Treat Through Time event on October 24th!

We are saddened by the passing of our dear friend and board member, JW DeWitt.

JW served two years as president of the Museum of the Plains board and was such a special part of our museum family. He especially loved attending our Tea Parties with his grandchildren and making those memories together.

We are so grateful for his time, support, and memories he shared with our museum. He will be deeply missed. ❤️

A Halloween themed scavenger hunt is here!🎃

Starting today through Halloween, see if you can find them all!

Also, don’t forget to join us for trick-or-treating on October 24th! There will be candy, pumpkin & costume contests, games, and more!👻💀🎃

We have an assortment of coloring books, 10 free markers with purchase. We also have Pokemon and Highlights seek and find books. The prices range from $3.50 to $5.00. Quite a bargain!

Every artifact has a story.

Here at the Museum of the Plains, we have artifacts and discoveries that help tell the story of the people, animals, and communities that came before us.

From mammoth remains found right here in Ochiltree to pottery, arrowheads, stone tools, bison skulls, and the reconstructed face of a woman buried in the “Buried City” of Ochiltree County, each piece gives us another glimpse into the past.

Come explore the past with us at Archaeology Day on October 10 at 1:00! This is a FREE event. 🏺🔎
