On August 27, 1873, Harry Morse, 7, and his mother, Florence Ione Morse, went fishing off Brandy Bay in Keuka Lake. An eight pound trout leapt from the water as Harry was leaning over the side of the boat and bit his nose. The fish landed in the bottom of the boat. The strange incident made national news.
