Aerospace & Technology History Museum

Aerospace & Technology History Museum Models, miniatures, artifacts, books, and photos present the history of technology and flight.

The Aerospace & Technology History Museum -- AeroTech -- features over 100 aircraft models and miniatures and dozens of books, photos, and related artifacts; the museum tells the story of the history of flight and space exploration. The museum has several areas to explore that present the history of technology and flight, including "From Wilber to Buzz... History of Flight", "Battle of Britain", a

nd "Personal Computers and the Design Age", featuring the first IBM PC1. The focus is on learning how new technology and necessity forced transformations in aerospace design. A section is dedicated to the history of Nasa and the exploration of space; another shows how to become a pilot, astronomer, or astronaut. The goal is to provide a miniature version of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and the target audience is technology and aerospace fans as well as school age children interested in engineering or industrial design.

The Wright Flyer and the aerospace industry would not exist without the cumulative knowledge of world civilization, starting with math. Using applied math, the shape of the wing, the weight vs. speed vs. lift of the plane, the materials and machinery are all constructed. These concepts arose through generations of worldwide collaboration and experimentation. Aerospace is the pinnacle of human civilization.
