Founded in 1896, Rhode island Watercolor Society (RIWS) is one of the oldest watercolor organizations in America. With over 300 members, RIWS provides artists and the general public the opportunity to view, purchase, exhibit and learn about watermedia art. RIWS offers classes, workshops and demonstrations by nationally and regionally acclaimed artists. RIWS also organizes educational trips to art exhibitions. Located in a historic lakeside “boathouse” in Slater Memorial Park, RIWS features an art gallery, library and studio space. The gallery hosts 15 shows per year, including a National Watermedia Competition. Gallery Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm, Sunday, 1-5pm. Closed Mondays and Holidays. Many of us have adjusted to working from home and going out less due to Covid-19. The holidays are a challenging time due to this pandemic, and we're happy to host this online show where you don't have to come to a gallery to view beautiful art, you can view it right in your own home! A perfect gift for the holidays: art shared with all! "Home for the Holidays" was open to a variety of interpretations with no limitations on subject matter.

RIWS Presents "Paint What You Love" juried by artist and instructor Paul George! Use likes to vote for your favorites, the one with the most likes will win our "People's Choice Award" at the end of the show! If you are an artist featured in this show feel free to tag yourself.

All of these pieces are for sale (unless otherwise indicated with NFS). Inquiries may be sent to [email protected] or you can give us a call during our regular business hours (401) 726-1876.

This show is on display now until November 20th in our gallery located in Slater Memorial Park. Our hours are Thursdays and Fridays 10am-4pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm.
