We hope this message finds you, your family, and friends in good health. The COVID-19 crisis is testing us all in many ways, but it also reminds us of the things that are important. Community resources like Kidspace are integral to our "new normal," from digital activities for young learners, to providing an open space to return to when it is deemed safe. We're asking you to help us keep Kidspace strong so we can keep providing children and their families with the quality content they've come to expect from our organization.

In response to an immediate need, Kidspace's Board of Directors and several major donors have launched a $50,000 matching gift campaign. All gifts will be matched dollar for dollar – providing support for the staff, online programming, and the families we serve. Donate today.

Are you ready for Easter? Our friends at Bean Sprouts can help with the menu! This recipe and many other kid-friendly creations available in BEAN SPROUTS KITCHEN cookbook.

Sip Hop
This carroty concoction will put a spring in your step.

1 cup (130 g) chopped carrots
2 teaspoons (10 ml) pure maple syrup
1⁄2 cup (85 g) frozen pineapple chunks
1⁄4 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
1 cup (235 ml) canned coconut milk
1 whole carrot, for garnish
1 tablespoon (15 g) cream cheese, divided
1 tablespoon (5 g) unsweetened shredded coconut, divided

1. Place the chopped carrots, maple syrup, pineapple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and coconut milk in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a cup or glass.
2. Cut the whole carrot in half lengthwise. Trim into rounded segments about 3 to 4 inches long (7.5 to 10 cm) for bunny ears.
3. Press 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in a smaller segment on the flat side of one of the carrot ears. Gently press 1 teaspoon shredded coconut on the cream cheese. Repeat. Place the bunny ears in the top of the smoothie.
4. Form a little ball with the remaining teaspoon cream cheese. Roll in the rest of the shredded coconut to form a bunny tail. Press on the other side of the cup.
Bean appétit!

Our Story

Nestled in Brookside Park next to the historic Rose Bowl, Kidspace Children’s Museum is an industry leader in the field of informal, free choice learning whose mission is to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to become joyful, active learners.

In its 40-year history, Kidspace has become known for seeking out new ways to bring children and families together to learn and play, serving over 5-million guests in the greater Los Angeles area since 1979. Located on nearly three and a half acres in Pasadena, California, Kidspace Children’s Museum has more than 40 hands-on exhibits, beautiful outdoor spaces, programs, and special events that are designed to encourage a child’s growth and development through exploration of natural environments, investigation in science, and artistic expression.

An incredible seed bed of learning and discovery, the purpose of a children’s museum is to inspire children to learn and grow, equip parents and teachers, and to be a safe place where learners of all abilities can do so at their own pace and focus on topics of interest to them. This is often referred to as “Free Range or Free Choice Learning.” What makes children’s museums different from a school is the approach to informal education, and the variety of both active and pretend play in an experiential setting. We believe in giving our guests hands-on experiences that are relevant and inspiring. Join our adventures!

Hi! When will your splash fountians be open?
Are you the parent of a 2-to 6-year-old child? Lend science a hand! The HANDS Lab at Florida International University is interested in understanding how children play. Participating in our study involves completing an online survey. We will ask your child play with different objects, and then ask you tell us more about what your child did. Participating is fun and helps us learn how children grow. To participate, use the survey link below: http://bit.ly/2y683B4 For more information about this study contact us: (305) 348-4032 [email protected] http://hands.fiu.edu/
