The Tin Ceiling The Tin Ceiling Gallery celebrates original artwork and merchandise created by artists with disabilities. Grant funding has allowed HDAC, Inc.

Located in Park Rapids, Minnesota, our inclusive studio and gallery is a welcoming hub where creativity, artists, and community come together. Retail Store and Gallery showcasing artwork by emerging artists of all backgrounds, experience and abilities. to provide a fine arts program that supports artists with disabilities and mental illness. It provides the opportunity for artists to explore, learn, create, exhibit and sell their artwork. Our program provides artists with high quality materials and access to art facilities that include screen printing, painting, papermaking, woodworking, metal working and more. Our program is designed and supported by professional teaching artists and visiting guest artists.

🎨 Come check out our new gallery layout!

As you enter the gallery, you'll be welcomed by exhibitions featuring artwork from three of our recent guest artist workshops, showcasing the finished pieces created by our participants alongside guest artists Amber Fletschock, Daniel Kerkhoff, and Jill Odegaard.
We're also featuring stunning solo collections by artists Vanessa Anderson and Lindsay Gooch.

In the back half of the gallery, you'll still find the handmade items and unique artwork created by our talented CREATE participants.

CREATE participants recently took part in a Circle Paint & Collage Workshop with guest artist Daniel Kerkhoff from Minneapolis. Artists collaborated on a shared creative experience using color, paint, and paper.

Participants began by choosing colors they were naturally drawn to and painting freely on the canvas. While the paint was still wet, it was used like glue, allowing pieces of paper to be added to the surface. Some artists chose to paint over the paper once the paint had dried, creating additional layers of texture, color, and expression.

The workshop encouraged artists to let go of expectations and see where the creative process would lead. It was a fun and freeing experience that celebrated experimentation, spontaneity, and self-expression.

Working together under Daniel's guidance on a single collaborative project brought participants together around a common goal: creating a finished artwork that reflected many different ideas and perspectives. Through the process, artists discovered the beauty of collaboration and the importance of finding perfection in imperfection.

The finished pieces are a vibrant reflection of creativity, connection, and the unique contributions of every artist involved. 🎨✨

This year’s People’s Choice Award goes to “Pondwater Summit” by C.R.E.A.T.E / The Depot!

A huge thank-you to all of the amazing artists participating in the 2026 Park Rapids Sculpture Trail and sharing their incredible works with our community.

And thank you to everyone who has explored the trail and taken the time to vote!

The sculptures will be up through early April 2027 so plenty of time to get out and enjoy them some more!

ART LEAP Day 1 is off to a fantastic start! 🎨✨

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by so far. We've had a great turnout and are enjoying sharing the creativity and talent of our artists with the community.

Artist Spotlight: Edna Kako | ART LEAP 2026

Edna Kako will be joining us for Art Leap this weekend!

Edna Kako is an artist and longtime resident of Park Rapids, Minnesota. She works at Hubbard County DAC, now known as CREATE, where she began in 2001. Edna was born and raised in Park Rapids and works during the school year at Century Elementary School, where she proudly shows her Panther Pride.

Edna enjoys a wide range of creative activities, including knitting, painting, jewelry making, and crafting. In her spare time, she also loves cooking and baking. Her dedication to creativity has been recognized locally, earning her awards at the Hubbard County Fair. For Edna, making art is both a joyful pastime and an important way to express herself.

Join us at The Tin Ceiling Gallery this Saturday and Sunday for ART LEAP, and be sure to stop by Sunday to meet Edna and see her creative work.
