While filing some historical articles, we saw a July 20, 1976 Beacon article that included this 1892 sketch of the county poor farm. It was located northeast of Paris until after World War 2 and demolished in the 1960s.

Edgar County Historical Society has a unique opportunity to acquire several vintage pieces of agricultural equipment. Since our current museum space is at capacity, a 30' x 88' addition is planned. The foundation was recently laid. Fundraising is underway to help defray construction costs. Follow our page or contact the Historical Society for more information.
