Anna Keelin, on left above, is a former teacher at Buckner Schools in Dallas at Buckner Children's Home. She taught in 1958, 59, and 60, and in ‘63 through ‘65. With her are Phyllis Deary Raley, who lived at Buckner from 1957 through 1965, and Phyllis’s husband William Raley. He attended Buckner the same years, and both he and Phyllis were former students of Mrs. Keelin’s. These folks were at the Lamar County Historical Museum recently visiting the Buckner Rooms. Buckner Children’s Home had its beginnings at the First Baptist Church Of Paris, Texas, where Dr. Robert Cooke Buckner, founder of the Children's Home, had been a pastor during and after the Civil War. The LCHS Museum has an extensive collection of artifacts from the Buckner Home.
