Hello to all of my Friends. Sorry to have taken so long to respond, but my internet was taken by the Hurricane, like everyone else, and my phone decided it had enough. I've been distracted also from the loss of my Father who passed from Cancer, just three weeks after the storm. Totally out of the blue and extremely sudden for a man who's never been sick. .I've been spending a lot of time with my Mom who weathered the storm with my Father on St. Joe Beach and helping her rebuild and cope. Thanks to all for your patience, thoughts, and understanding. On a more positive note, the Gallery survived and is open for business.

Here is a follow up article re. St. Joseph Bay and the impact of the Intracoastal Canal on the environment. Again, it was written by my Father and has gotten a lot of attention, especially with the Red Tide issue and steady decline of Scallops. I will return to Art Related issues after this and thanks for your concern of the environment.

Some of you may recall my article on the Canal from May of last year. In that article I explained how the freshwater, pesticides, treated

Unrelated to Art, here is an environmental situation you may want to ponder. As many know, I was raised on St. Joseph Bay by Parents who have always been environmental advocates and lovers of the Bay. I've scalloped there since I was able to swim and recollect being able to pick up almost 20 scallops with a single breath. Things have changed and here is one of the largest impacts on the Bay, explained by my Father.

Some of you may recall my article in the September 3 edition of The Star, titled “The Bay: A look beneath the surface,” in which I explained

For those who enjoy Maritime History, here is an article my Father, Herman Jones, recently wrote on the German Ocean Liner the "Europa." Enjoy.

When I moved over here from Parker in 1969, to teach school, I soon became a lifelong friend of Capt. Dave Maddox, the local Harbor Pilot. He

"Cherish Your Child's Art." This is the time of year that everything is sent home for students, including a lot of Great Art. Show them the respect of having their art framed and preserved; it goes quickly and memories shouldn't be in a box. I recently framed this piece for a Mother of a 14 yr old Incredible Artist. It depicts a young girl in a rain jacket shielding off a somewhat ominous electrical storm as she steps over a puddle, not knowing what is beneath. The original patina frame is reclaimed wood from demolition at the Paper Mill in P.C., however, framing options are limitless. Please consider a professional job on your child's art and embellish their one of a kind piece for typically around $100 or less.

I have acquired from a family member a collection of Vintage Autographed Hollywood Pictures from the early 40's, during the Golden Age of Cinema. She would often would cut out pictures of the Star she wanted an autograph from and mail it to them to increase the likelihood that the actual person signed the piece and not a secretary. There are approximately 150 different singed pieces and most have their envelopes with the studio's insignia. A few of the names pictured are: Miranda, Paige, Peck, Power, Prowse, Rains, Rogers, Sinatra, Swanson, Taylor, Tracy, Turner, Welles, Williams, Young, Gable, Crawford, de Havilland, Hutton, Grable, Astaire, Fontaine, Hayworth, Cooper, Cagney, & Crosby. They are For Sale, so Please stop by and check them out at the Gallery. Thank you, Trip
