Did you know there were 32 pyramid truncated mounds made from oyster shells around Saint Andrews Bay! Stop by the museum and gallery and ask Ben for more information. He would love to fill you in on all the interesting facts about these mounds.

October's exhibit, "Native Americans in St. Andrews", is a reminder to honor and celebrate the vibrant cultures, traditions, languages, and wisdom that Indigenous communities share with the world. Come in and see the incredible artifacts left by the people who first lived in the St. Andrews area.

To learn more about Native American history on the Gulf Coast, continue south on Beck Ave near Oaks by the Bay park and visit the Native Spirit Museum and Gallery.

Oaks by the Bay Park is now a member of the Trail of Florida's Indian Heritage; a statewide non-profit network of historic and cultural sites dedicated to preserving and promoting Native American heritage. Thank you to Dr. Kesia Blenn at City of Panama City - Government for coordinating the park's inclusion and Florida Public Archaeology Network - Northwest Region for the designation.
