YOU ARE INVITED
CAMP GORDON JOHNSTON MUSEUM
MVPA members and potential members in and near the Panhandle Region are invited To Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum in Carrabelle Saturday, July 10 for a tour of the expanded facility, lunch, fun, and fellowship.
The get-together will provide military vehicle enthusiasts with an opportunity to renew acquaintances and have some fun after over a year of health restrictions.
Camp Gordon Johnston Museum is located across from Carrabelle Beach in Franklin County. The address is 1873 Highway 98 West, Carrabelle 32322. It is located on the site of the second largest military base in Florida during WWII. The facility trained over 250,000 troops for amphibious warfare in Europe and the Pacific.
The museum is currently adding a second major building to the campus which will provide additional display and meeting space. By July 10 the building will probably be available for an early-bird tour by event participants.
MVPA member Bob Grimes serves on the museum’s board of directors and will host our visit.
The event will start at 10:00 am and end about 4:00 pm.
Military vehicle owners are welcome to bring their vehicles but bringing a military vehicle is not an expectation of the organizers of the Carrabelle get-together.
