I’m an all-around marine artist& you can find me fishing the waters of the Gulf Of Mexico and hunting the lands of South Alabama with my family. I am married to an awesome woman who loves to fish and hunt as much as I do, and we have a super awesome little boy named Barrett. My goal with my artwork is to capture that feeling of realistic scenes and portray real-life outdoor experiences —freezing it to be shared and re-lived over and over again by those that hang my art on their wall. For those of you who are new here, I’m Cole. I’m a marine and wildlife artist, and this is my newest painting, Autumn’s Edge.

I wanted this one to capture everything I love about being in the woods during the fall. The changing leaves, the last bit of sunlight coming through the hardwoods, and that feeling you get when a big whitetail steps out.

There are a lot of little details in this painting that remind me of places I’ve hunted over the years.

I really enjoyed bringing this one to life, and I appreciate everyone who’s been following along with my work.

I asked Barrett what he would add to my latest deer painting and he had PLENTY of ideas 😂

Turkeys flying over, bluegill in the water, another deer, and of course another deer stand with a hunter in it.

I tried to talk him into making the turkeys wood ducks, but he wasn’t going for it 😂

Safe to say this kid already knows exactly what he wants his perfect hunting spot to look like.

Might have to let him design the next one.

Some people see a sunset. Some of us are looking for tails.

Adding the final layers of texture to “Sunset Gold,” a tailing redfish painting inspired by those last few minutes of light in the marsh.

There’s something about seeing that blue tail light up against the warm sunset that never gets old.

I wanted this one to feel like more than a redfish painting. I wanted it to take you back to being on the water when the wind lays down, the marsh turns gold, and you catch that first flash of a tail.

That’s the kind of moment I want my coastal artwork to hold onto.

There are going to be times when nobody else sees the vision yet. That doesn’t mean you stop.

Keep creating.
Keep building.
Keep trusting the gifts God gave you.

This heavily textured tailing redfish painting is one of my favorite examples of why I love original coastal art. The depth, texture, marsh tones, and that redfish tail breaking the surface all hit differently when the piece is painted by hand.

Building something of your own takes time. So does making something worth keeping.

Invest in yourself. Trust God with the rest.

I don’t think you ever really feel ready.

Ready to start.
Ready to put your work out there.
Ready to take on the bigger canvas.
Ready to call yourself an artist.

At some point, you just do it anyway.

You make the piece. You take the risk. You figure it out as you go. And eventually, you look back and realize how far all those imperfect starts carried you.

This large, heavily textured blue marlin painting is exactly why I love creating marine art. The movement, detail, texture, and power of these fish make them one of my favorite subjects to paint.

Handmade takes time, and time is luxury.

This one was built layer by layer, texture by texture.

A tailing redfish in the marsh, but with a softer coastal palette that makes it feel just as at home in a beach house as it does in a fishing camp.

There’s something different about owning original art that you can actually see and feel the work in.

Made by humans is the new luxury.

Every layer. Every texture. Every brushstroke. Made by hand.

This heavily textured tailing redfish painting was inspired by those quiet moments in the marsh when the light hits just right and you catch that unmistakable redfish tail breaking the surface.

No print can fully replace the depth and character of an original painting. That’s what I love about creating coastal art that you can actually feel when you see it in person.

You don’t find your style. You build it.

And honestly, that applies to a lot more than art.

You build confidence by doing the thing before you feel ready.

You build skill by being bad at something long enough to get better.

You build momentum by showing up when nobody is watching.

And eventually, all of those reps start to look like progress.

This Costa Rica blue marlin painting is one of those pieces for me. Bright color, heavy texture, a jumping marlin, the boat, the mountains in the background, and more detail than I probably needed to put into it 😂

But that’s the point.

Every painting teaches me something. Every piece pushes me a little further. And every time I keep going, my style becomes more mine.

Whatever you’re building right now, keep going.

You probably won’t feel ready first.

You’ll become ready by doing it.
