We're excited to share the discovery our friends at The Powell Museum & Archives made of early correspondence and design concepts for the City of Page logo.

These materials offer a rare glimpse into the creative beginnings of Page’s identity and the city’s early efforts to define its image. Among them is a letter dated November 8, 1965, from Robert B. Landry to Lawrence K. O’Neill, who would later become Page’s first mayor. It reads:

Dear Mr. O'Neill:

Our artist has worked up two suggested ideas for an emblem for Page, in accordance with certain suggestions you furnished us.

I rather think they are pretty good for a starter, so after you have had a chance to study them, please advise us if there is anything we can do to assist.

With kind regards. Very truly yours, Robert B. Landry
