Oxford Treehouse Gallery

Oxford Treehouse Gallery Oxford Treehouse Gallery Oxford Treehouse Gallery simply began with a move to beautiful Lafayette County.
(1)

Walter and Vivian Neill started with a blacksmith shop in 2002. Walter built a painting studio/gallery nestled in the trees (some actually supporting the porches) in 2005 and the chicken palace in 2008 completed the evolution. The gallery doubled as their home and studio until construction was finished on their house on the same property in 2013.
“We opened Oxford Treehouse Gallery to share this s

pace with other artists and to provide the public with a fine art experience in an unconventional gallery setting. We strive to fill the studio with art that we love and appreciate - that is both functional within the home and adds to the simple beauty of everyday life.”
Open Thursday-Saturday 10-6 and HAPPILY by appointment 662.236.1667.

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of artist Nancy Mitchell.

Nancy brought so much life and curiosity to her subjects simply by looking more closely at the world around her. She took the time to notice the kinds of beauty so many of us often overlook.

It was clear that creating art was more than a practice for her. It was a way of sharing her joy of life and all of God’s small creatures.

We are grateful to have known her and honored to have shared her work. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones. 🤍

As if on cue ✨

The clouds part, the rain lets up, and suddenly everything feels a little brighter🌤️

That’s the feeling we had unpacking this new collection from Church Goin Mule and judging by how quickly these works tend to find homes, we don’t expect them to linger for long.

Now live on the website or stop by to see them in person today from 12–5.

Places we'd like to be, please.😍

We WERE being productive but now all work has stopped and we're just sitting here ooh'ing and ahh'ing over these new arrivals because how can you NOT?

Tammy Oliver Cook has made these perfectly sized wonders ready to bring a bit of whimsy to any space that needs some zhuzhing ✨

Oh, and we have a few more we'll share soon 😘

It's not that we're keeping things from you, it's just that we want to SEE you! And for you to see these wonders in person.

And is there any better time to get out to "the county" and take a break from all the busy of town?

And is there any better moment to give the gift of art than on Mother's Day AND Graduation? Something they can look back on and ~remember when~ always knowing who got it and when.

These are just our thoughts. And this is just the coolest Ellen Langford I dare say we've ever seen. "Wow" is just not enough to tell you what this piece is in person.

So come see us 🩵

Is it just us or have things been 😵‍💫 lately? Whatever it is, we could use a break. So, we'll be here for a while. Sitting and staring to get lost in this place that feels wholly peaceful and perfect. The stillness, the water's reflection, the boat we'd like to float away on...take us there.

And isn't that what art is for? To transport us somewhere we'd like to be.

If you need a pause too, come sit and get lost with us.

**RARE**

We don't often talk about what's underneath the gallery but it's a gem in its own right.

A little studio just for when you need it, and right now we have a rare opening - graduation weekend 🎓

So if you know someone looking for a place, or if you are just looking to get 15 minutes from the hustle and bustle of town, come stay in our little sanctuary. 🌳🩵

Where’s Walter?! 👀

Busy! He just installed TWO sculptures. And before that an install at (but that's for another post 😉).

One found its home in Madison, the other right here in Oxford and both, we are happy to report, are living their best lives.

Inner Connections is now pond-side. The fluid shapes were designed to play with the ripples in the water - there's constant movement in the sculpture as the water itself. 💧

And Eclipse II tucked itself into this tree-filled spot that feels…kind of magical ✨ The lighting hits that braided detail just right at night and it all glows in the dreamiest way. We’d sit here for hours. 🌳

Anyways, back to keeping Walter busy!

We are so not blue over these new beauties that just arrived from Ellen Langford 💙

We want to soak in these hues of blue and we’re calling it: this is the color of summer. And who doesn’t want summer year-round? (Except August… August is 🥵) So, brb, we're hanging these on our walls to evoke that no-school, all-fun summer feeling all year long ☀️🌊

Most of these canvases are 12x12. Happy to provide any additional details, these are ready to hang and enjoy.

What would it be like to see the sky like THIS? 😳

Steven Schneider makes a strong case for paying attention in his latest arrivals. Big blue strokes, strikingly fragmented clouds ☁️ - all the stuff we don’t "see" on the way to ~something else~. All the while we have a show right overhead we could be watching.

These though, these pieces don’t let you off the hook. They beg and plead 🙏 for attention and the attention is indeed, deserving.

We have two smaller works that play very well together, and a few larger ones that are perfectly happy to stand alone.

Come in and see 👀 or DM us for additional details. 📏📸

And look up at the sky today! ⛅️
