The time has come! This week, Granville Museum is opening two new exhibits!

In the Harris Exhibit Hall main gallery, we have the long awaited exhibit, "Making Music in Granville." An exploration of everything musical in Granville County, from our musical origins, music in our local schools, churches, and neighborhoods, as well as the abundance of local talent, from bands to singer-songwriters! Along with the exhibit itself, which will be up through the fall, we will be holding a variety of band performances, jam sessions, and musical programming! Keep an eye on our website and here on social media for event updates!🎻🎺πŸͺ•

We are excited to also welcome the Teresa Gilreath Black History Collection! Teresa's collection of books, film, art, and more about Black history in our nation will be on display March through April, so don't miss it!

Merry Christmas, everyone!πŸŽ„πŸŽβ„οΈThank you all for supporting the Granville County Historical Society and Museum this year!...

Join us TOMORROW Thursday, December 4th, 4-5 pm, for our next artisan program with the wonderful seamstress, Carol Montague!

Carol has taught sewing to many, including children. Her skill as a teacher is well proven by the beautiful quilt on display, sewn by her grandaughter Annabelle, so we are excited for her to demonstrate a sewing lesson with children for her program!

If you have an interest in sewing or teaching a little one to sew, this is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight from one of our best local seastresses!

Grateful for our gardeners!! Museum staff would like to give a hearty "Thank you!" to these lovely ladies from and Granville County Master Gardeners!

We have a whole new native plants bed, planted outside the Granville History Museum in the old jail building! This will be a wonderful addition to our native gardens, with the other side of the building to soon follow, and will support our native pollinators.

They will be dormant while their roots take hold over this fall and winter, but look out for growth and blooms next spring and summer!🌱
